Meet the Leadership
Melanie Chesser-Garcia is the owner and managing director of Ellevate Communication, a female-led consulting company helping clients rise to their communication challenges.
Prior to starting Ellevate Communication, Melanie spent twelve years at BMC Software where she developed communication strategies and supported C-suite executives through a decade of organizational transformation—public to private transition, leadership shifts, new vision and brand, and global pandemic—bringing the strategy to life every day.
Before joining BMC, Melanie helped transform company news at MetLife and managed executive communications for their Chief Technology and Operations officer. She also worked as a senior communications manager at JPMorgan Chase leading communications for the Worldwide Securities Services (WSS) business unit. Melanie also managed employee communications for WSS in the EMEA region, living and working in London for six months.
At the start of her career, Melanie was selected for General Electric’s Communication Leadership Development Program (CLDP). As one of eight program members, she worked at three different GE businesses focusing on employee communications, community relations, and marketing communications.
Born and raised in The Bronx, she now lives in Houston with her husband and daughter. When she's not working hard, Melanie enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
Melanie received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in English Literature from the University of Rochester.
